Declutter Drawers
Out of sight, out of mind, they say. Well…not necessarily.
Decluttering the surface of a desk or a counter by scooping and shoving everything inside a drawer is only but a quick fix. Yes, at plain sight your mission has been accomplished. And you’ve probably begun feeling this instant sense of fulfillment. I’m finally organized.

But, guess what? Once that drawer is open, tah-da! Like magic, the clutter reappears and all that sense of fulfillment and accomplishment you’d felt before vanishes instantly.
Decluttering must not be just at the surface. It should come within. Organizing creates an immediate sense of clarity and control. Transforming a jammed, unorganized drawer into an orderly space eliminates the visual stress and wasted time spent hunting for missing items. Ultimately, restoring order to these small, personal spaces creates in you a feeling of lightness and focus, ready to tackle any task that comes your way.
You don’t have to spend an entire allowance to tidy up those kitchen drawers or that bathroom cavity. There are a few budget-friendly solutions to decluttering a drawer.
My go-to for drawer organizing are small storage baskets made to fit the interior of a drawer. You may find these at any shopping store. I have purchased mine at my local Target and Ikea stores since they’ ‘ve been priced quite reasonably.

But before head off on a decluttering mission, there is one important task to perform before rushing to the store. With pen and paper, and a good measuring tape, you must measure each drawer, its length and width, and don’t forget its height. Otherwise, you might end up with a purchase that’s too small or too big for the drawer.
