Taking time for yourself is essential because it lowers stress, restores your energy, and clears your mind.

When you step back from your daily duties, you give your body and brain a chance to rest. This break helps you feel calm, think clearly, and show up as your best self for others.

I love, love visiting coffee shops for when in much needed Me times, whenever I feel overwhelmed by life’s daily tasks. just minutes drive from my home, it is my life-saving oasis. A cozy little place with tufted seats and flower vases, I can sit and read a good book for hours while sipping their foamy latte and savor on their freshly-baked sweet goodies. I’ve actually brought my planner quite a few times, and even organized my week ahead and balanced my monthly budget, and even sketched a few things in my drawing pad.

Need tips on setting daily relaxing goals? You don’t need to make huge changes. Just small steps to make a big difference in your mental well-being like politely pass on tasks that drain your open time (there is such word as delegating – I’ve learned of it the hard way). You can also set a designated “sleeping time” each day to build sleeping habits. But among all, don’t forget to track your improvements; notice how much better you feel after your breaks.

A mental reset clears stress, stops racing thoughts, and helps your brain feel calm and focused again. It acts like closing extra tabs on a slow computer so you can work better.

I’ve come to know that stepping outside to take a walk in fresh air without looking at a screen drastically improves my mood. I’ve had past coworkers do this at their breaktime. Afterwards they say they feel more alert and in better mood.

Here are some more ideas:

  1. Take five slow breaths to calm your nervous system.
  2. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee without multitasking at all.
  3. Listen to one of your favorite song and just close your eyes.
